Role / Department Overview
Administer, monitor and design hardware architecture of different backup resources.
Manage backup licenses to ensure successful Data Ensure protection, data integrity and availability of all agreed applications.
Manage smooth operation with optimum performance and high availability.
Manage archival and data life cycle of application data. Align strategic goals and objectives of Technology to satisfy business delivery for positive customer experience, meeting KPI & SLA targets, compliance, quality assurance and effective customer support.
Report to Head of Server, Storage & Backup.
Job Responsibility
Ensure successful data protection of all agreed applications as per customer SLA.
Manage smooth operation and optimum performance of backup system.
Manage archival and ensure data integrity and availability of backup data.
Rollout capacity planning of backup resources
Troubleshoot problems
Ensure operational Excellence
Ensure Presales service for relevant technologies
Deploy systems with respect to application requirements
Implement and integrate backup hardware & software for different customers.
Document & report as per ISO service requirement
Education & Experience Requirements
B.SC/ M.SC in Computer Science and Engineering from a reputed university
Special Skills Requirements
Required Knowledge &Technical Skills:
Thorough knowledge of Backup and Recovery technologies.
Thorough knowledge of client application architecture.
Knowledge of System platforms.
Knowledge of Backup Applications
Knowledge of Backup Infrastructure
Advance Administration of EMC Networker 7.x or above.
Administration and implementation experience on Oracle Secure Backup
UNIX, Linux & Windows OS Administration skills including HP-UX & Solaris.
Knowledge on Networking and Communication technologies.
Knowledge on enterprise class like SUN L700, SL500 Tape Library.
EMC EDL Administration.
EMC Avamar Administration
